Nov. 22, 2018
Bernat Bonnin, CEO of Robot, participated yesterday in a debate on Hotel Rehabilitation that took place during the Hosteltur Suppliers Meetings of the Balearic Islands, which were held on 20 and 21 of november in Es Molí des Comte.
The debate began with a current situation briefing of hotel rehabilitation. It should be noted that 2015 and 2016 were the years of greatest investment in hotel reforms in the history of our country, and the trend continues. In the last three years, more than 3,100 million euros have been invested, one third of which correspond to the Balearic Islands. Thanks to that, actually the 17% of the hotel plant in Spain is new or has been renovated this year.
The hotel reforms arise to respond to the new customers needs and also to get again in competition with newer and more modern hotels.
Being Meliá one of the first hotel brands to bet on hotel rehabilitation, Mark Hoddinott, Executive Vice President of Meliá Hotels International declared that "We must anticipate market needs and see the opportunities that arise", about which Bernat Bonnin added " The hotel reforms are a tool to make a better model and provide value to the industry. It is not necessary to grow in quantity but in quality".
The reforms have produced a contagious effect and are one of the main current investments, about which Marga Rotger, Director of Marga Rotger Interiorisme assured "The client deserves to live new experiences, and that is why it is important to change" while Bartomeu Rosselló, CEO of Acústica Industrial pointed out that "We were in a comfort zone from which we had to leave. We must innovate always respecting our environment."
In many cases it was the evaluation of old buildings that led to the decision to opt for the reform of the building. Carlos Martínez, Contracting Director of Construye Capital explained that "You have to think about the projects in advance to overcome the possible administrative procedures that may arise".
About the importance of thinking about sustainability, Bernat Bonnin explained that "The guest will demand to consume less, or to consume more efficiently", which "forces us to think that infrastructures must respond to these changes and demands".
Robot was present at this fair with a ROBOTBAS stand designed to interact with visitors.
